The Alsea Pups Preschool recognizes parents as the first and most important educators of their children.  Our school staff sees themselves as co-workers with you in providing care and education for your child. There are many ways in which parents take part in making the preschool a welcoming and stimulating place for children and parents:

  • Sharing with the teacher about your children’s needs, activities, interests and progress.

  • Helping at sessions of the preschool, which includes sharing your own special interests with the children. (These can count towards your volunteer hours. Ask the teacher for the volunteer sign-up sheet.)

  • Helping to provide, make and look after the equipment and materials used in the children’s play activities. (This can count towards your volunteer hours. Ask the teacher for the volunteer sign-up sheet.)

  • Taking part in events and discussions about the activities and curriculum provided by the preschool at monthly parent meetings. (Free dinner and childcare will be available.)

  • Joining in community activities in which the preschool takes part.

  • Building friendships with other parents in the preschool.

  • We highly encourage parents to visit us in the classroom, but please make arrangements beforehand so the teacher can plan accordingly.

First days

We want your child to feel happy and safe at the Alsea Pups Preschool. To make sure that this is the case, we will work with you to decide on how to help your child to settle into our daily routine. If you have questions or concerns, please talk to the lead teacher before or after school and not while teaching. We are happy to make an appointment to talk with you also.

Our full day program will begin the second full week of school on Tuesday/Thursday.
